| Department Summary | The department offers BA/BS and M.S. degrees in Geography, a newly created BS degree in Geographic Information System and Computer Science (GIS+CS), and undergraduate/graduate certificates in GIS. The department won the AAG’s prestigious Master’s Program Excellence Award in 2017. We also work with the Environmental Science Ph.D. Program and the Department of Philosophy Ph.D. program. | Position Summary | The Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking a lecturer with expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) starting Spring 2023 for a two-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. We seek candidates who have a graduate degree in GIS or geography, or an advanced degree in a related field. Candidates should show evidence of successful teaching using ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro. The successful applicant should be able to teach an introductory GIS course and other assigned GIS courses in-person or online, and maintain GIS teaching laboratories. The teaching load will be 3 courses per semester.
