The Department of Biology at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to hire two dedicated and experienced full-time lecturers to start in the summer of 2024. These lecturers would serve undergraduate students primarily in the College of Arts and Sciences and graduate students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. The initial appointment is for 11 months; however contingent upon funding, satisfactory performance review and approval of the Dean, we anticipate this to be an ongoing appointment, renewable on an annual basis. During the first year, the lecturers would be involved in a mixture of training, course development and teaching. In subsequent years, each lecturer would teach 2 courses per semester (4 per year) split between the introductory biology series (required by most students in the biology major), and biology courses appropriate for several different graduate programs in Bioengineering and Biotechnology.
