About the Role
We are seeking an Academic Teaching Specialist to join the Business and Economics team to support the development and implementation of the Discovery Subject – Sustainable Commerce. This multi-disciplinary subject operates under the broad direction of the Subject Coordinator and the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining curriculum and teaching materials, including e-learning and multi-media platforms
  • Co-teaching lectures and engaging with students in a meaningful intellectual manner to nurture their learning and promote intellectual curiosity and critical thinking
  • Contributing to the subject leadership team in the coordination and management of tutorial staff and the subject program
  • Delivering tutorials with a particular focus on active and authentic learning

About You
You will have experience teaching in higher education with a background in classroom instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes, or relevant industry experience at a managerial level. You will be a high-level organiser, with the ability to prioritise your workload and work well under pressure to plan, implement, and evaluate new initiatives. You will be able to draw on your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise and work collaboratively with a large range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

You will also have:

  • A postgraduate qualification (or progressing towards a postgraduate qualification) in a business and economics discipline or related area.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
  • A demonstrated ability to develop relationships and work effectively with business, industry, and/or professional associations.
  • A sound understanding of business education pedagogy, including simulations, case teaching, and online and experientially-based learning methodologies.
