The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana invites applications for non-tenure track positions at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.
Successful candidates must exhibit a passion for teaching and/or mentoring undergraduate students and are expected to be highly motivated instructors.
Teach two or three courses each fall and spring semester, and have an opportunity to teach during the summer session. Courses may include undergraduate lecture courses, graduate lecture courses, or undergraduate laboratory courses. Contribute to ongoing curriculum development and assist in services to the School of Mechanical Engineering as needed.
Education
The candidate must have at the minimum an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with comparable professional or teaching experiences in colleges. Preference is for candidates to have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Qualification
Preferred: Demonstrated successful college-level teaching backgrounds, as well as experience mentoring young engineers; and demonstrated experience in student-centric interactive teaching styles (e.g., cooperative learning methods, flipped classrooms, etc.) as well as effective use of technology in the classroom.
