Job Summary:

The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) is seeking a part-time instructor to help develop and teach a new course, StartUp Wisconsin, focused on helping students learn how to start companies in Wisconsin. The plan is to offer one section of this course that will be taught Spring 2023 and Spring 2024. This position will start in January of 2023.
The lecturer is responsible for course work preparation in alignment with learning outcomes; original content creation; classroom instruction; holding office hours; and exam preparation, administration, and grading consistent with the policies of the WSB. Collaboration with colleagues is critical on all aspects of course delivery.

Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 65% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 25% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Education:

Required
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred
PhD or other terminal degree, or a degree at least one level above the level of instruction, or otherwise approved as qualified by the Dean

Qualifications:

Required:
Experience working in the entrepreneurial economy, such as in a startup company, venture capital fund, or similar experience.
Preferred:
Prior instructional experience at a university or college.

Work Type:

Part Time: 10% – 33.3%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 16 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Negotiable
