Introduction (Description of School/College/Dept/Program) The College of General Studies offers an array of classes that lead to an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree and satisfy general education requirements for bachelor’s degrees at UWM and other UW System campuses. The college offers courses on UWM’s campuses in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington County. It was created in 2018 when UW-Waukesha and UW-Washington County joined with UWM as part of the University of Wisconsin System’s reorganization of the two-year campuses formerly known as UW Colleges. The College of General Studies includes three departments — Arts and Humanities, Math and Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Business. The departments offer classes in more than 29 subject areas.
Job Summary The Department of Social Sciences and Business of the UW-Milwaukee College of General Studies invites applications for one non-tenure track instructor in Business at the Waukesha County Campus for Spring 2023. This is a fixed-term position with the possibility of renewal contingent on enrollments. Teach introductory level courses; hold appropriate office hours; attend orientation activities; and perform required grading, assessment, and reporting tasks. Anticipated staffing is needed for the following courses:

  • CGS BUS 101 Introduction to Business
  • CGS BUS 110 Personal Finance
  • CGS BUS 201 Introductory Accounting
  • CGS BUS 244 International Business
  • CGS BUS 360 Principles of Marketing

Contract begins on January 13, 2023. Spring classes begin January 23, 2023. New staff orientation will be scheduled within the contract period.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business or a related discipline
  • Successful teaching experience at the university level
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in Business or a related discipline
