Job Summary The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for two non-tenure track Lecturer positions, to start in the Spring 2023 semester.
In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States.

Department and College/School Information
The Department offers majors in English and English with Teacher Certification; minors in English, Creative Writing, Sound Studies, and Technical Writing & Professional Design; a certificate in Technical Writing & Professional Design; and an MA and PhD in English. By teaching students to read closely, analyze carefully, think imaginative, and communicate effectively, the Department of English prepares students to succeed in a global economy and to participate in a global democracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The expected teaching load of a Lecturer in English is 5/5. While there is no research requirement, a Lecturer is expected to keep current with developments in their field(s) of expertise. There are no service requirements beyond attending monthly departmental meetings and, as needed, relevant training opportunities related to teaching.
Required Qualifications PhD, MFA, or other terminal degree in English or a closely aligned field. Must be able to contribute to the department by teaching lower-division courses in developmental English, first-year composition, and/or sophomore literature and, as needed, upper-division courses in one or more of the following general areas: creative writing, language, literature, rhetoric, technical writing and professional communication, theory, and writing/digital authoring.

Special Conditions for Eligibility Strong preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching diverse student populations.
