| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Department of Geography is a research and teaching department in the College of Arts & Sciences. |

| Position Summary | The department of Geography seeks an instructor to teach three courses in Spring Semester, 2023. The successful candidate must have experience – and a successful track-record – of teaching large-format introductory courses in geography in two areas: Word Regional Geography and Human Geography. The instructor must also have demonstrated experience teaching an advanced-level global urban geography course. A PhD in Geography is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have had recent teaching experience at UNC. |

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Prior experience teaching advanced undergraduate courses at UNC-CH. |
| Special Physical/Mental Requirements | Expertise in World Regional, Urban, and Human Geography. |
