DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry of the University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus is seeking to fill a full-time position for an initial two-year term at the Lecturer level starting July 1, 2026 or a date mutually agreed upon.
The teaching responsibilities for this Lecturer will involve primarily the delivery of first year chemistry lectures, labs and associated course coordination functions and may also include other lecture and lab-based instruction in areas such as organic chemistry and scientific communication. This position requires excellence, technical capability and a passion for engaging undergraduates with regard to communication, chemistry and science. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate instruction within the lecture and laboratory settings is essential.
Successful applicants will be able to work independently yet also participate smoothly within a team-based instructional setting, will have proven potential for creating innovative instructional environments, and will be excellent communicators.
The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Previous relevant experience as a sessional lecturer or limited term teaching appointment would be a definite asset. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $90,000 per year.
