Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Learner Success Advisor, the Learner Success Advisor Assistant (LSAA) supports the academic journey of School of Continuing Studies (SCS) learners. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: arranging student appointments, assist students with course selection, maintaining files containing confidential information in the Modern Campus Extended Education system, communicating university policies, rules and regulations, approve course enrolments, enter final grades, provide confirmation of enrolment letters for Learner Success and Credit Learning Access (LSCLA) students and verify student information in Colleague.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education, at least a two-year community college diploma – undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph preferred
- Minimum 6 months previous experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated by previous customer service experience
- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to prioritize duties in response to student requirements, with frequent interruptions
- An ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with nervous or visibly upset students and/or parents and confidential student documents
- Knowledge of University semester and yearly cycles
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Access, email/calendar, knowledge of Destiny, Colleague and WebAdvisor considered an asset
The following would be considered an asset:
- Knowledge and understanding of the School of Continuing Studies certificates/diplomas/pathway program regulations
- Knowledge of the University of Guelph undergraduate calendar
Employee Type: Temporary
Hourly rate: $26.17 – $29.24 per hour
