Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences) is a key discipline construction university in Shandong Province and the largest medical science research institution in Shandong Province, with more than 10 affiliated hospitals. Shandong Institute of Brain Science and Brain-inspired Research (hereinafter referred to as the “research institute”) is a strategic scientific initiative of Shandong Province, collaboratively established by Peking University, Shandong Provincial People’s Government, Jinan Municipal People’s Government, and Shandong First Medical University. The research institute is headed by Lin Lu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Shandong First Medical University. The research institute focuses on fundamental research to build a nationally leading technology development and sharing platform for brain science and brain-inspired research; focuses on the transformation of achievements to form a domestic first-class brain science industry chain; focuses on people’s health to develop new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of major brain diseases and new technologies of brain-computer intelligence.

The research institute welcomes dedicated and talented scholars for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at two different ranks (senior/junior) in broad areas of psychiatry, neuroscience, neurology, psychology, neuroimaging, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition and intelligent systems, computer application technology, epidemiology and health statistics, and public health policy.

Qualifications

1. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. in related fields from world-renowned universities or research institutions.

2. Applicants for senior principal investigator should possess a tenured professor position or associate professor or equivalent position with national and international recognition and an extraordinary track record in publications and research funds.

3. Applicants for junior principal investigator should have over 5 years of international work experience and possess a research associate position with productive and creative potential.

Salary Package and Supporting Conditions

1. An internationally competitive salary (negotiable) and benefits package will be offered, including social insurance and housing provident fund, relocation reimbursement or rent allowance. We will provide assistance in applying for national and local talent programs, children’s education and foreigner’s work permit.

2. The research institute will provide scientific research start-up funds and platform construction funds, as well as reasonable laboratory and office space, support of scientific research teams, and priority of graduate enrollment.

3. Other resource allocation: one-time resettlement subsidies, etc.
