Then this is exactly the right job for you: as Lead Principal Engineer Application EV Charger you will define product requirements for all discrete products (Si, SiC, GaN) in the context of EV Charger and align them across Infineon’s divisions. You will also bring in and consolidate new application trends and also address emerging applications.

In your new job you will:

  • Evaluate and describe system architectures and application requirements for Electric Vehicle Off-Board Charging (EV Charging)
  • Develop and contribute with your technical expertise to the Application Roadmap as well as to capture and drive system know-how in the community
  • Engage with our customers and act as a senior technical advisor to establish trust in Infineon’s system solutions and gather customer requirements for deep application understanding
  • Analyze, structure and translate application requirements and interpret system-related stakeholder demands for product definition (e.g. power switches, gate drivers, controllers) in cooperation with the Technical Marketing teams
  • Preform technical trend scouting and drive pre-development of next-generation application features through conceptual work and simulation of new architectures
  • Work with R&D across Infineon to derive next generation technologies and innovation ideas
  • Be responsible for technical customer support on application level and define the needs for go-to-market promotion materials like reference designs, white papers, benchmarking and simulation models
  • Influence standardization authorities worldwide and provide requirements for Infineon’s product offerings
  • Represent Infineon at related external events

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A university / university of applied sciences degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a similar field of studies
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in power electronics conversion research & development and/or technical marketing and application engineering in the power semiconductor industry
  • Profound knowledge of SMPS architectures, topologies, modulations, and control algorithms particularly for systems in the multi-kilowatt range
  • Entrepreneurial behavior and business understanding as well as Design to cost experience in EV Charging market
  • Broad knowledge on power devices, gate driver ICs, controllers and sensors and their interaction at system level
  • Understanding of the different power conversion architectures of EV Charging stations and experience on system simulation using e.g. PLECS, Simulink, PSIM, SIMETRIX
  • Proven experience in leading and structuring complex technical discussions in cross-functional teams and at customers
  • Strong presentation capabilities and ability to build interest and credibility with customers
  • An excellent command of English, German would be a plus

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. When staffed in Austria, the employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group I-J (). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
