Lead Superintendent Sonographer

The opportunity has arisen for a suitably skilled, experienced, dynamic Sonographer to be recruited permanently into the lead superintendent role.  You will be HCPC registered with an extensive portfolio with evidence of clinical experience and a desire to develop leadership, managerial experience.  You will require strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels within and external to the service, providing advice and guidance where required.

The Ultrasound service operates 6 days a week 0800-1800 providing a wide range of ultrasound imaging examinations at UHS and at our satellite site Royal South Hampshire Hospital. 

The radiology care group incorporates radiographers, scientists, nurses, consultants and trainee radiologists.  All areas are supported by HCAs/RDAs with designated administration staff.

The service provides an out of hours emergency service via an on call/shift rota for all modalities except nuclear medicine

Each modality has a lead superintendent radiographer.

The care group has a clinical lead that is supported by sub speciality clinical leads.

The care group hosts the Wessex radiology training scheme, which is recognised nationally for its excellent training scheme.

The care group is well supported by informatics, PACS team, Service Improvement lead and governance facilitator. The managed equipment service provides a programme for all new and  replacement equipment across the service
