Serves as the Lead Security Specialist—Travel Risk Management for the Aerospace Response Center (ARC), responsible for conducting thorough risk assessments for all GE Aerospace travel, with a focus on high-risk destinations. This position will evaluate potential threats and develop strategies to mitigate risks. In addition to serving as the Travel Risk Management Specialist for the Aerospace Response Center (ARC), they are responsible for the maintenance of the GE Aerospace Travel Risk Management Policy, assist in developing and leading crisis management drills for the enterprise, managing crises, and the execution of global security operations processes.

 

Job Requirements

  • Participates in the maintenance, evolution, and implementation of the GE Aerospace Travel Risk Management Policy as well as the review and refinement of attendant processes. Ensures compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • In coordination with Regional Security Directors, oversee the high-risk travel process, ensuring employees submit detailed risk mitigation plans. Review and approve these plans, providing feedback and recommendations as necessary.
  • Provide real-time support and guidance to GE Aerospace travelers, addressing any safety or security concerns that may arise during their journeys. Act as a primary point of contact for travel-related incidents and crises. Coordinate response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Conduct training sessions and awareness programs for employees on travel safety and risk management. Promote a culture of safety and preparedness.
  • Provides direct assistance in documentation, coordination, management, and training related to the ARC, Crisis Management, and Travel Risk Management as directed by the Global Security Team.
  • As needed and directed, performs day-to-day tasks associated with ARC and Global Security Operations.
  • Assists in development and delivery of crisis management drills for the enterprise.
  • Implements GE Aerospace crisis response and global security operations processes.
  • Completes special assignments and other duties/tasks as assigned.
  • Provides input, guidance, and feedback to contract and GE Aerospace employees.
  • As directed, manages crisis triage efforts, phone lines, security tools, case management systems, emergency notification systems, and security distribution lists.
  • Reports to the Director, Aerospace Response Center and assists with various assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products as well as a demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a challenging, high-stress environment.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor, with proven interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Security Management, Risk Management, International Relations).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in travel risk management, security, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of global security issues and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proven experience in incident and crisis management.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in using travel risk management tools and software.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call availability.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or professional certification in a related field.
  • Experience working in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Multilingual capabilities.
