Our Pickering client, one of the world’s largest signage companies, is looking for a Lead Hand Metal Fabricator to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the metal fabrication team in daily tasks and productions goals
- Lead, train, mentor and oversee 4-5 junior fabricators
- Fabricate sign components using hand and power tools (shears, rollers, brake press, grinders)
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency in fabricated components
- Coordinate workflow and delegate tasks to team members
- Monitor progress of team and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to meet production goals
- Assist other departments with problem-solving, identify areas for continuous improvement, and fabrication planning
- Ensure team adheres to safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2-3 years of Supervisory experience or as a Lead Hand
- 3-5 years of metal fabrication experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and fabrication designs
- Proficient with hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, and machinery (shear, roller, brake press)
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality
- Able to engage with others and work well in a team environment,
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Safety boots required
Bonus Qualifications:
- Metal fabrication experience within the sign industry (asset)
- Welding experience (asset)
Compensation and Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Pay Rate: $30-$33 per hour
