Job Summary
Monthly financial close analysis and reporting, including but not limited to:
- Review, reconcile to general ledger and patient accounting system, and analyze patient accounts receivable data for accuracy, completion and timeliness
- Calculate, analyze and report the monthly contractual allowances for all payors based on zero balance account studies, pricing increases, and contract rate changes
- Perform complex monthly balance sheet reserve analysis to determine any necessary adjustments
- Create and input journal entries into PeopleSoft with supporting documentation
- Prepare supporting documentation and analyses to support journal entries
- Perform budget variance, flex/volume and trend analyses
- Prepare financial reporting and monthly close packages, and board and finance committee presentations
- Research and resolve any issues arising from analyses and review
- Review and analyze patient accounts receivable aging and charge lag trends
Department Description
UCSF’s Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
