We are now seeking a dynamic Launchpad Procurement & Finance Officer to work as part of our Launchpad team who will be responsible for ensuring that all the acquisitions for the University’s Launchpad programme achieve best value and are procured using the most compliant and sustainable methodology.
You will manage external supplier accounts and will fully consult with academic and professional staff to ensure the best outcome for each procurement exercise. You will work within a close knit, skilled team to ensure the programme continues its success.
About You
The successful candidate for this role will need to be a pro-active team player who is conscientious and hard-working who actively plays their part in continuing to make Falmouth University a great place to work. It is a fast-paced environment, we are looking for people who have the energy needed as we execute our ambitious plans. Alongside these core qualities, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to react and make decisions independently.
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
 

  • Experience in Public Procurement
  • Sound understanding and experience of managing suppliers including supplier development, drivers of costs in the supply chain, understanding of subcontract markets and supply relationship management
  • Essential knowledge and experience of EU / externally funded Procurement procedures and guidelines
  • Excellent level of PC skills including MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and ERP procurement systems
  • Good level of accuracy and attention to detail.

This is up to 10 months fixed-term, full time, 35 hour per week position working from our Penryn campus, Cornwall. We offer flexible working arrangements which can be discussed further at interview.
