Physical Requirements | Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy. |
Shift | Primarily Days Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some Evenings, Weekends are possible |
Job Summary | The Saha CVRC is seeking a Lab Technician Senior to work within a large research group facilitating laboratory organization, and performance of in vitro experiments. Daily work activities will require strong observational skills. Preferred experience in microscope tissue dissections. Other duties include organizing, conducting, analyzing and recording experimental data; overseeing student workers; cleaning and maintaining all lab glassware and equipment. Must be able to review laboratory manuals, protocols and techniques making minor modifications as needed. Review results of experiments for reliability by comparing data obtained from previous experiment. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Basic lab skills, (e.g., pipetting); basic computer skills (e.g., MS windows, excel). |
