Job Description:

Participates in the daily accessioning of research samples including database registration, labeling and distribution of samples while identifying issues with defined sample rejection criteria.

Participates in the support of licensed laboratory personnel on routine tasks required for testing such as sample organizing, testing batch setup and filing.

Responsible for the physical maintenance of specimen archive as well as associated software utilized for the mapping of specimen locations.

Works with sponsors to resolve issues related to submission errors.

Uses defined processes to populate data systems on a daily bases through the transfer of data from sponsors..

Oversees the final distribution of samples defined by the sample source including distribution of samples to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease (NIDDK) Repository requiring use of specific processes and software.

Produces on-demand requests for subject/visit specific collection kits.

Participates in the production and international distribution of blinded sample sets used for the Islet Autoantibody Standardization Program (IASP) Workshop.

Provides data entry services for result entry.

Responsible for the maintenance of inventory to ensure operational integrity

Expected Salary:

 $17.00 – $19.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Communication skills which will allow the employee to interact with UF physicians, clients, and other health professionals in a professional manner.
