LABORATORY MANAGER, School of Medicine, Arthritis Ctr/Rheumatology (22500575260914)

We are looking for highly motivated, well-trained individuals interested in working via bench and translational research in autoimmunity and tissue fibrosis. The successful candidate will be working in a highly collaborative and collegial multidisciplinary environment, using a range of complementary imaging, molecular, and metabolic techniques. The candidate will be expected to work with patient cell/tissue samples complemented by animal models of cardiac fibrosis and conditional knockout mice.

Established experience in the following areas is desirable:

A) In vivo animal model of disease (previous experiences with mouse model of cardiac fibrosis will be highly considered)

B) Animal breeding and genotyping

C) mouse monocyte and macrophage cell isolation and culture

D) Primary human cell isolation especially mesenchymal

E) Cell sorting (FACS).

F) Cell/tissue imaging techniques such as fluorescence and confocal microscopy;

G) Advanced techniques in biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology. Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals and grant commitments.

The candidate will be expected assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies and assists in organizing data. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Responsibilities will include teaching new lab members the most commonly used techniques and ordering required lab supplies.

Bachelors Degree, 3-5 Years Experience
