Job Information
Job Summary:
The University of Chicago is seeking a Laboratory Assistant III to perform daily dishwashing and autoclaving glassware of designated labs. Collect glassware from labs for washing and sterilizing. Return cleaned sterilized glassware according to lab specifications. May be required to make liquid and solid media.
Responsibilities:

Pick-up used glassware from designated labs.

Wash and sterilize glassware according to protocol.
-
Return washed and sterilized glassware according to laboratory request.

Perform other related work as needed.
Competencies:

Able to produce excellent sterilization results.

Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a short amount of time.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Able to work independently and work as a team.
Additional Requirements
Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
-
Requires safe handling of laboratory equipment (vials, pipettes, tubes).

Requires use of autoclave equipment for washing and sterilizing lab glassware.

Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Pay Range:

$19.23 – 19.67 hourly
