Kyndryl Offensive Security Project Manager
Kyndryl
Who We Are
At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.
The Role
The Project Manager will take the lead on planning and executing offensive security projects, which include penetration testing, red teaming, and vulnerability assessments. You will be responsible for developing project plans with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables tailored to both internal Kyndryl teams and external clients. Coordination of cross-functional, globally distributed teams is key, and you will ensure that security engineers, testers, and ethical hackers are aligned with the project’s objectives.
An essential part of your role is managing external client engagements. You will liaise with customers to understand their security needs, define project goals, and ensure that their expectations are met through regular communication. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project, ensuring that all updates, progress reports, and final outcomes are clearly communicated.
A critical aspect of this role is maintaining the project and presales tracker, which includes monitoring all ongoing and prospective security engagements. This tracker is essential for managing the pipeline of upcoming projects and tracking presales activities, ensuring that Kyndryl’s offensive security resources are allocated efficiently. The Project Manager will ensure that the tracker remains up-to-date, providing visibility to senior leadership and sales teams regarding the status of current and future projects.
In terms of risk management, you will assess and address risks associated with project execution, such as resource constraints, technical challenges, and business impacts for both Kyndryl and its clients. Compliance with Kyndryl’s security policies, customer-specific security requirements, and industry regulations is also part of the Project Manager’s responsibility.
Additionally, you will continuously seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Offensive Security Team, adopting best practices in both project management and offensive security operations.
Your Future at Kyndryl
The career path ahead is full of exciting opportunities to grow and advance within the job family. With dedication and hard work, you can climb the ladder to higher bands, achieving coveted positions such as Principal Engineer or Vice President of Software. These roles not only offer the chance to inspire and innovate, but also bring with them a sense of pride and accomplishment for having reached the pinnacle of your career in the software industry.
Who You Are
You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important – you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused – someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you’re open and border less – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.
Required Technical and Professional Experience
Experience 5 + Years
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, business administration, or a related field, with PMP or equivalent project management certification highly desired. You should have at least five years of experience in managing cybersecurity or IT projects, particularly offensive security initiatives. Experience managing both internal security projects and external customer engagements is essential.
You should be familiar with offensive security tools and techniques, such as penetration testing frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, or Trello). Experience in maintaining and updating project or presales trackers is critical, as this role involves ensuring transparency in both current project progress and upcoming business opportunities.
Key Factors:
- Strong communication skills for working closely with internal technical teams and external clients.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with offensive security tools and project management software.
- Experience managing both internal and external security projects.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced offensive security environment.

Strategic thinking is required to align project goals with both internal business objectives and customer security requirements. Attention to detail is crucial, particularly in maintaining accurate records of projects and presales opportunities. Flexibility and adaptability are key to managing the evolving needs of both Kyndryl and its customers.
