Knowledge Exchange Officer
The University of Essex has an opportunity for a Knowledge Exchange Officer to join our Business Engagement team. The Knowledge Exchange Officer a critical support function for the University’s external / business engagement activities, providing ongoing support for the generation and management of the University’s growing Knowledge Exchange (KE) portfolios in furtherance of the University’s mission of Excellence in research.
Department
The Research and Enterprise Office (REO) is an Administrative Section within the University’s Professional Services. The REO delivers services to the University’s academic community to support a range of research, impact and knowledge exchange activities and also contributes to a wide range of business engagement activities and facilitates the delivery of services to business, as well as to the wider community.
Duties of the Role
The post holder will support our Knowledge Exchange Managers in developing relationships with businesses to undertake research and consulting and develop innovations, based on our research strengths.
They will be involved in business engagement, proposal development and project coordination activities, and assisting in the day-to-day administrative and operational requirements of the Knowledge Exchange team.

Skills and qualifications required
You will have experience of performing desk-based research and stakeholder management, excellent administration skills and a keen interest to work at the forefront of knowledge exchange. With the ability to work independently and as part of a team, you will be educated to graduate level or equivalent level of experience. You will have strong communication skills, a high level of integrity, self-motivation and be able to work to competing deadlines.
