About the Role
We are looking for a passionate educator to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of STEM programs within our Knox Innovation Opportunity & Sustainability Centre (KIOSC).

As our new KIOSC Teacher/Educator, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a range of STEM programs designed to equip primarily secondary school students for success in the rapidly changing world of work. You will be required to implement industry best practice and apply current learning technologies and contemporary learning pedagogies within specific requirements. As the KIOSC Teacher/Educator, you will work on a fixed term to deliver STEM-based training to students within the KIOSC project.

Reporting directly to the Project Leader, KIOSC you will work with the KIOSC Director and Swinburne’s staff to achieve successful project outcomes and be expected to exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with staff, students and other stakeholders.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of how students learn, and the ability to design and implement innovative STEM-based programs aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and the Principles of Learning and Teaching P-12.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop constructive relationships with colleagues, parents and the wider community to continuously improve the student experience of KIOSC.
  • High-level digital skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to explore current and emerging technologies to develop engaging teaching and learning resources.
  • Demonstrated capacity to respond to feedback and data to evaluate and refine programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to provide advice and support to staff, students, and internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Teacher currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching or equivalent experience or an experienced educator with a relevant STEM based degree or vocational qualification
  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification
