DESCRIPTION: Teacher in Elementary Spanish Immersion Classroom QUALIFICATIONS: Educators at Fuente Nueva center their work around the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to create trauma sensitive classrooms. Ideal candidate believes in serving the whole child as a member of the culturally diverse world community, is familiar with MTSS/PBIS and Restorative Practices, and strengths in communication. Must possess fluency in both Spanish and English and have strengths in collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in an elementary immersion classroom and have a valid Multiple Subjects CA credential and CLAD certificate. GENERAL INFORMATION: At Fuente Nueva, we offer a full Spanish immersion program. Students learn a second language by studying all core content areas in Spanish. Lessons are supported with teaching strategies that enable students to build their language skills while also mastering the objectives of the lesson. English is formally introduced in second grade with four hours of instruction a week. The amount of formal English instruction increases as the students matriculate through the grades. Students gain a strong foundation in their second language by learning to read and write in Spanish first. Every classroom has a classroom assistant who is fully bilingual and works at minimum 5 hours per day. The school lunch program features local and organic fresh cooked meals. The campus is located on the edge of farmland that lead to the ocean on one side and to the forest on the other. We have outdoor classrooms, beautiful playgrounds and lots of places to explore and learn in the local community.
