Kambu Health First Nations Scholarship

In 2023, UniSQ will offer one Kambu Health First Nations Scholarship to support an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student commencing their studies in a health service-related associate degree or bachelor’s degree program (including dual degrees) offered through the School of Health and Medical Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery or School of Psychology and Wellbeing.

Established in 2022 through the founding gift from Kambu Health. 
Value

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $5000 to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, or have permanent resident status
  • be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia
  • be commencing their studies at UniSQ in a health service related associate degree or bachelor’s degree program (including dual degrees) offered through the School of Health and Medical Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery or School of Psychology and Wellbeing in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g. Semester 1 2023)
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 6 study units across the 2023 academic year as follows:
    • minimum 3 study units in Study Period 1 (e.g. Semester 1); and
    • minimum 3 study units across the remaining study periods (e.g. Semesters 2 and 3)
  • be enrolled on-campus, external or online

Selection criteria

Applicants must:

  • submit a personal statement (500 words maximum) outlining:
    • what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at USQ
    • how you see yourself as a future professional within your field.
  • provide evidence you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia.
  • provide evidence you have an income at or below the financial threshold limits  as directed in the application process.

Please note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
