Junior Underwriter in Markham, Ontario

Description:

TEKsystems financial services client in Markham, ON is adding 3 Junior Underwriters to their team. These roles are best suited to someone with personal banking, bank teller, or mortgage/loan administration experience. Candidates will be required to work In office one day per week to start.

Duties:

• Receive, review, and adjudicate small loan applications by terms and conditions set forth by our lender clients

• Ensure completeness of applications and request additional information beyond the application to ensure thorough and accurate evaluations (when necessary)

• Underwrite, advise clients, and provide pre-approvals, agreements, and partial advances to eligible applicants as per lender parameters

• Review and analyze applicant risk, which may or may not require access to the applicant’s credit bureau information

• Conduct necessary due diligence which may include independent verification of information provided by applicants; duplication of applications and applicants previously flagged for fraud and misrepresentation

• Adhere to the escalation process to manage application risks, such as fraud, errors, conflict of interest, or applications that present additional complexities

• Ensure accurate record keeping of all inquiries and discussions with the applicants for the efficient processing of the loans

Must Haves:

• Years of experience: 1 year of experience in a personal banking role or 1+ years of experience in Mortgage Admin experience

• Communication: Strong command of the English language

• MS Office experience:

• At least 1-2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and other office applications

• Must be willing to submit to a

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields is considered an asset

• Industry: Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset

• Bilingual (English and French) both verbal and written, with excellent communication skills is considered an asset
