The Employability and Apprenticeship Directorate are looking to appoint a dedicated team of Student Ambassadors to provide operational support to the university throughout our three campuses. This is an excellent opportunity to develop fundamental employability skills and gain valuable experience, to help prepare you for the competitive graduate recruitment market in a uniquely varied role.

Our Student Ambassador team are our most powerful brand advocates and act as role models for the university. They work under several key professional competencies; customer focus, teamworking and developing self/others, personal integrity, and analysis and decision making. We are particularly keen to receive applications from engaging professionals, who share our passion for the university, and can make a substantial contribution towards the scheme over a sustained period.

Whilst working for our team, Student Ambassadors are offered the opportunity to gain further training and develop their own specialisms within their home campus. Successful candidates may gain experience of campus open days, campus tours, faculty tasters and clinical demonstrations, Welcome Week, administration support, faculty career fairs and supporting university marketing campaigns. We are particularly looking for students who have A-Level maths or equivalent and can tutor GCSE students, who wish to support secondary school students in non-subject mentoring work, who have a care leavers background and/or wish to be part of the Greenwich Friends programme for care leaver students.  Student Ambassadors may also have the opportunity to support a disability and diversity initiative known as the STAART Project. For further information on this initiative please visit https://www.gre.ac.uk/study/support/disability/staart .

For many Student Ambassadors, they play a key role in a young person’s educational journey and will often serve as the first contact they have with the University. Our team play a vital role in supporting and inspiring people who are considering attending higher education. The team seek to empower young learners by sharing their personal experiences to reassure motivate and provide support to allow them to make an informed decision about taking the next steps.

Student Ambassador work is offered on a flexible basis to fit around your studies, and may include evening, weekend, and holiday work. Student Ambassadors are offered work primarily on their home campus, with some opportunities at off-site venues in London and Kent. For an informal discussion about the post please contact Natalie Turner [email protected]
