About This Opportunity
The Career Development Team are seeking to recruit current students who will support the design and facilitation of employability and career development events and services. This will include the co-design and co-facilitation of the annual Employability Week (to be hosted across the St Lucia, Herston and Gatton campuses) from 6 – 10 March, 2023, and other events throughout the year (including Cuppa and Careers, Recruitment Essential Days etc.). Shifts will be available across the St Lucia, Herston and Gatton campuses.
To be successful in this role, we will be looking for people who can effectively communicate with, and support, a diverse range of students and industry professionals, have a positive and creative mindset and are looking forward to working in a collaborative team environment. We are looking for candidates who have an ability to develop rapport with diverse stakeholders (e.g., students, industry, staff) and have strong administrative skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Welcoming students and industry at events and coordinating and leading the registration desks
Supporting virtual sessions through moderating (verbal and via the chat feature)
Leading the set-up of events
Supporting the facilitation of in-person events
Encouraging conversations with event attendees
Designing (and featuring in) engaging social media materials (including social media takeovers).
Please note:
Candidates must be available for a minimum of three shifts during Employability Week (6 – 10 March, 2023), with training to be provided in early February 2023.
Shortlisted candidates will need to be available to attend an in-person (at the St Lucia campus) session (information session, group activities and interviews) on Thursday 8 December 2022 from 9am – 1pm.

About You
Are currently studying at The University of Queensland (in 2023) and are available to work the week of 6 – 10 March 2023.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Have previously engaged in extra-curricular employability activities and/or accessed employability supports (e.g., workshops, events, resources).
Ability to prioritise tasks through time and project management while maintaining attention to detail.
Familiar with moderating and facilitating meetings via Zoom.
What We Can Offer
This is a casual position through to December 2023 at HEW Level 2.1 with a salary of $37.48 per hour (including casual loading plus superannuation of up to 10.5%.
