IT Systems Administrator

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise systems across both Linux and Windows environments, ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of our IT infrastructure. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a strong technical background, deep experience in systems administration, and the ability to implement and address compliance frameworks such as CMMC, SOC2, and/or ISO 27001. A hands-on approach, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and strong compliance knowledge are essential to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain virtualization platforms and physical infrastructure, including VMware, Windows, and Linux systems.
- Manage and maintain key IT infrastructure systems both on-premises, off site and/or as-a-service (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of servers, storage, and networked systems.
- Implement and enforce compliance controls related to CMMC, SOC2, or other relevant frameworks to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot system-related issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution of critical problems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of system infrastructure with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and compliance controls.
- Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure continuous improvement of the infrastructure.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all systems adhere to established compliance standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field is desired.
- 6+ years experience in systems administration of Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and their management.
- Expertise in implementing and maintaining compliance frameworks like CMMC, SOC2, or NIST 800-171.
- Excellent knowledge of data centers, networking, server security, and identity management systems.
- Proven experience in system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and hands-on management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain documentation, particularly around compliance and security controls.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team, providing technical leadership and support.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Linux+, or MCSE are a plus.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
