Job Duties What You’ll Do – Position Duties

As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:

IT Service Desk is seeking undergraduate students to work as Student workers in the Service Desk area of IT. We are looking for intelligent, amicable, and passionate individuals who are adept at problem solving and troubleshooting technology, with a working knowledge of computers, printers, monitor hookups, software and hardware installations. Assist with LamarID PIN resets, LEA password changes, email setup, LEA2Step/DUO Mobile setup and wireless connections on all devices. Assist Students with computer use on lab computers. Ability to guide students on how to print to the lab printers. Ability to install toner, maintenance kits and paper to the lab printers. Ability to diagnose and fix paper jams for lab printers. Provide accurate information to customers regarding request for information or service.
Minimum Qualifications What You’ll Need to Succeed – Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:

  • Matriculated student pursuing a minimum of 12 credits at Lamar University in a degree program with no less than 2 years left until graduation.
  • Experience with modern Operating Systems (Windows, OS X) and modern Cloud Services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Oral and Written Skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and self-regulating, with minimum supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills, paying close attention to detail, accountability, and reliability in meeting deadlines and requirements.

*Work Study is preferred.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Work Hours Max of 20 hours per week – will work around class schedule. We offer flexible scheduling during the semester and continued employment throughout summer and winter breaks. Mandatory evenings and Saturdays and Sundays
Job Conditions Ability to work in hot/cold and/or outside environments for limited time.
