You will be part of the End User Compute (EUC) team who are responsible for the engineering, management, security, and compliance of our multiplatform environment (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android). This team includes application packaging and availability, endpoint security, device configuration utilities (SCCM, JAMF) and OS / platform design and maintenance. The team along with others makes up the Campus Support team, consisting of approximately 40 staff members across multiple specialist areas.
The role:
The primary focus of the role is to manage the Mac platform and day to day management as part of a team of skilled EUC and software deployment professionals – with a focus on people, process, and task management. You will play a key role in shaping and driving projects, critical pieces of repeatable work and innovative change within your specialist area.
The role requires you to have significant experience of working in specialist technical teams, a strong background in managing enterprise Mac/Windows platforms and excellent interpersonal skills.

Essential Skills
- Experience of managing a large Mac based estate
- Relevant qualification of Mac management (E.G JAMF 100,200)
- Expertise in Windows/SCCM operating systems and enterprise management.
- Experience of delivering on a range of tasks, projects, and outcomes
- Broad knowledge and experience of enterprise level IT systems.
- Experience of managing Office 365 technologies and deploying into platform.
- Experience of deployment and management of endpoint security platforms.
- Experience of Active Directory, Azure AD and Group Policy management.
- A clear understanding and drive to meet security and compliance standards and a ‘secure by default’ ethos.
You will be required to undertake the duties below:
- Provide high level technical expertise in the development, support, and maintenance of multi-platform EUC environments
- Act as contributor and adviser in projects and lead discussions and share expertise with colleagues and others.
- Take a role in the research, evaluation, development, and deployment of new and emerging technologies relevant to EUC systems and services.
- Formulating processes to ensure that the broad EUC platform is reliable, resilient and is capable of rapid recovery in the event of planned or unplanned circumstances disrupting normal operations.
- Proactively set and maintain best practice and development standards and provide advice to colleagues.
- Assist team lead with capacity planning to ensure timely project delivery.
- Engagement with potential and existing suppliers of EUC and platform infrastructure, providing technical evaluation and input to procurement processes, ensuring the best value for the University.
- Understand and implement IT security into all aspects of EUC planning and delivery.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University’s achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff. This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
