Information Systems Services (ISS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic IT Engineer to work as part of its Faculty IT Engineer team, which supports IT Services at Lancaster University.
As an IT Engineer you will be joining a faculty-based team providing second line technical support to users of the University’s IT services. As part of the role you will be providing on-site and remote technical support to these end users. Using ITIL based processes to deal with incident and service requests, you will be involved in a wide variety of technical challenges, advice and preventative maintenance in support of the Universities Teaching, Research and administrative functions. This includes working alongside our AV services team with the support of IT and Audio-Visual equipment in a variety of learning spaces.
This role will also work alongside the wider teams in ISS in helping support the delivery of new and existing services.
An experience of working in a team-based IT service environment, as well as knowledge of PC and Audio-Visual systems in use at Higher Education or equivalent establishments will be advantageous. You will combine your IT and problem-solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure an excellent service to the user community.
The posts will be normal business hours on campus, however on occasion there will be opportunities to undertake paid work outside those hours. The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to undertake a variety of training options.
