In response to Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis, IOM supports 32 health facilities in both the refugee camps and host communities in Ukhiya, Teknaf and Bhasan Char. IOM’s work in the Rohingya population has ensured that high quality health services are provided in an equitable manner, within the minimum essential package of health services. IOM ensures that skilled health crare workers and community health workers provide comprehensive primary and secondary health services. Beyond this, patients that cannot be supported at these facilities are facilitated by a 24/7 emergency team.This services are provided by a team of health care workers, and facility and community level. For the smooth operations of the health facilities team, supervisors, and community health team, a coordinator is necessary in these two Upazilas for quality operations. Furthermore, there is need for close coordination with the local government officials – Upazila health managers, camp in charges and community leaders.
Clinical support and monitoring of health facilities: In close collaboration with health facility incharges, conduct monitoring visits to health facility and use standardized checklist to verify compliance with established standards in the areas of consultations, laboratory, in-patient, infection prevention and control, medicines and supplies, and patient flows. Support capacity building and trainings of health care workers (enroute third-party staff) as required
Coordination with local leaders and stakeholder: work closely with the Upazila health managers, Camp incharges, community leaders, and other NGO partners in the Upazilas to identify, document and report emerging community and health concerns such as public health concerns, community complaints, emerging diseases in the community etc., and support the implementation of response actions.
Provide overall coordination support to the maintenance of medical referrals programs and teams. Provide direct support to coordination of medical referrals done by the health facility staff, processing of administrative support and guidance of facility incharges.
Provide day-to-day operational monitoring and guidance to the community health teams. Coordinate the work of community health workers and supervisors to ensure primary health care standards are kept, and follow up for AAP/GRM.
Provide support to the health facility in-charges for medicines supply chain management and support for system inventory requests and follow up on utilization of medicines, usage of program supplies, and support for forecasting of needs with support of the medical warehouse team.
Support health program monitoring through the health management information systems by compilling and analysing data for disease surveillance, technical reporting, and outbreak preparedness in close coordination with the supervisor and the HMIS team. Participate in data collection, surveys and evidence generation research areas as required.
Provide overall coordination support to IOM field teams such as administrative functions, performance management, rota management, infrastructure support and maintenance support
Any other responsibilities as provided for by the supervisors.
EDUCATION
High school diploma with 7 years relevant experience or
University degree in either Medicine, Nursing, Clinical Medicine or Public Health with five years of relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in public health programs in low resource settings, such as camps or refugee settings.
Good in verbal communication;
Working knowledge with Rohingya, local languages of Chittagong/Cox’s Bazaar are an advantage
Ability to supervise staff, monitor and capacity building.
Previous experience in NGOs and working with government stakeholders
Previous work experience in Cox’s Bazar
