IOM: EAGLE Project Associate – Vienna CO

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The position contributes to IOM’s objective of facilitating pathways for regular migration by supporting the implementation of the EAGLE project – a Skills Mobility Partnership between Austria and Egypt. Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Unit, the role focuses on assisting in the delivery and coordination of project activities that promote skills development, labour mobility, and migrant integration. Key tasks include supporting project implementation and monitoring, coordinating administrative processes, managing information and reporting, and contributing to communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
  2. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  3. Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
  4. Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
  5. Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
  6. Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
  7. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
  8. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

  • Experience in the field of labour migration, education and training, public-private partnerships, and/or integration of migrants are an asset;
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations is an asset; and
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Skills

  • Proven project management skills are an asset (e.g. monitoring, reporting, financial controlling);
  • Moderation and presentation skills, including in a digital setting, are an asset;
  • Research and publication skills are an asset;
  • Knowledge of the Austrian, Egyptian, and/or European migration landscapes, policies, institutions and stakeholders is an asset;

Languages

  • Fluency in German and English is required (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge of Arabic is desired
