Job Summary:

University Housing is looking for individuals with inventory, and receiving experience to join our Dining and Culinary Services team! Inventory Control Coordinators in University Housing help ensure we receive and store high quality food in residential dining facilities on the UW-Madison campus. Apply today!

Responsibilities: Assesses stock supply and submits orders, verifies shipment receipt, and maintains shipping, receiving, and inventory records to ensure unit has appropriate inventory.

  • 25% Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following established vendor procurement procedures
  • 20% Inspects and inventories received items and processes notifications to appropriate entities
  • 15% Shelves inventory and maintains organization
  • 20% Generates inventory reports to account for available stock and usage
  • 10% Develops, organizes, updates, and manages inventory storage floor pan to store food items and materials.
  • 5% Distributes and issues food supplies within building, while adhering to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • 5% Cleans, organizes, and maintains all storage areaas.
Tasks:
  • Reads instructions on labels (written in English) in order to properly and safely store food products and to identify if a product was substituted and what potential food allergens the substituted product may contain.
  • Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.
  • Demonstrates and role model exceptional customer service.
  • Performs duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment.
  • Assists and guides student workers and full time staff.

Education:

Preferred
H.S. Diploma

Qualifications:

Food service experience preferred.
Inventory experience preferred.
Receiving experience preferred.
Experience with electronic inventory software preferred.
Leadership or training experience preferred.

License/Certification:

Preferred
Drivers License – Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards
Preferred
ServSafe Certification

Work Schedule:

Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm or 9:00am – 5:30pm, based on location and operational needs. Schedule will be determined with the selected finalist at time of offer.
Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Minimum $18.00 HOURLY

This is a full-time appointment. The starting hourly wage is $18.00 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.
