Job Summary
  • Work with clients to gather necessary information and documentation, monitor status of cases, ensure professional and prompt client communication regarding each case.
  • Draft support letters, affidavits and/or any other necessary documents for the particular type of visa. Monitor changes in immigration and DOL legislation and alert international community and hiring units about changes.
  • Work to resolve complex problems related to non-immigrant status by communicating with a wide variety of government personnel and embassy and consulate officials.
  • Communicate with departments and petitioners to understand internal and external policies and process related to filing visa and PERM documents.
  • Responsible for the management of academic human resource records and providing high-level guidance on faculty postings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions and applications to USCIS and Department of Labor on behalf of international employees. Develop and monitor database for caseload management, maintain list-serve for international employees.
  • Assist other functional areas in Human Resources as directed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience and thorough understanding of employment visas.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the permanent residency process or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paralegal immigration experience preferred. 3-5 years’ experience and thorough understanding of employment-related visas, specifically H, TN, and O visas.
  • Understanding of the PERM process as well as the EB-2 and EB­ l (A)-(B) immigrant category for institutions of higher education.
  • Knowledge of the F-1 and J regulations is a plus
