The Opportunity
Reporting to the Academic Chair, we are looking for an Instructor for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade.
Duties within the work environment may include general office work like filing, hole-punching or scanning documents. Lifting, carrying and transporting items such as boxes of learning modules for students or supplies for instructor may be required.
The Role
- Instruct Pre-Employment students in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade.
- Instruct controls, electrical, heating, refrigeration theory and shop classes.
- Instruct all theory based classes online and shop classes in person.
- Instruct, evaluate and grade all of the students
- Instruct 5 days per week
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have a Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
- Second ticket in Electrical or Gas B is an asset
- Prior teaching experience is an asset
- Experience in a faculty role at a post-secondary educational institute is an asset
- Ability to effectively coach and support diverse students, ensuring that teaching environments are optimal for student success
- Self-directed with excellent time management skills and ability to manage priorities/deadlines
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Possess a positive, collaborative and team-oriented attitude
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience using learning management systems such as Bright space (Desire2Learn) is an asset due to the increased need for online teaching.
