Instructor of Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for three full-time, renewable non-tenure-track instructor positions, starting in August 2023.

Responsibilities for this position will be teaching and professional service.

Each successful candidate is expected to have a teaching load of approximately 12 credit hours per semester, primarily in courses at or below the calculus level. Applicants must possess a master’s degree or higher in Mathematics or a closely related field. Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and candidates who are from historically underrepresented backgrounds in STEM fields are encouraged to apply.

We seek candidates who have experience in teaching large classes, coordinating multi-section courses and overseeing instructional labs, or who have experience in teaching online classes and in working with online tutoring and assessment programs. Experience with teaching statistics or liberal arts mathematics will also be an asset. We seek candidates who through their teaching, and/or service can contribute to the diversity and academic excellence of our department, and who are committed to working with diverse faculty, students, staff, and the broader community.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess an earned masters or doctorate in mathematics or a related discipline at the time of application. Candidates should demonstrate skills in understanding cultural differences and be able to foster and create educational opportunities where all student populations thrive.
