• Maintains academic standards as established by the School of Nursing, college, and university.
• Teaches students in the practicum, laboratory and classroom settings.
• Assumes responsibility for the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.
• Provides academic advising/counseling to assigned students.
• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of School of Nursing, program, course, and student activities.
• Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc.
• Participates in program, School of Nursing, college and university committees and in other activities associated with professional status.
• Maintains membership in and participates in activities of professional associations.
• Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in practicum, classroom, and laboratory teaching.
• Displays scholarly orientation to the assumption of the responsibilities of a university faculty member:
  • Utilizes teaching-learning principles appropriately;
  • Serves as a knowledgeable resource person to, students, and community;
  • Shares professional expertise beyond the local level;
  • Assists in developing reports required for the operation of the School of Nursing.
