Applications are invited for a full-time probationary instructor position in Project Management in the Department of Supply Chain Management in the I. H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. The appointment may be at the rank of Instructor I, Instructor II, or Senior Instructor, depending on experience and qualifications. The start date for the appointment is Jan 1, 2025. On initial appointment, an instructor will be given a two-year probationary period. The maximum probationary period for an instructor is four (4) years. Salary is competitive, and salary and rank will depend on qualifications, experience, as well as teaching record. The normal teaching load for the position is eight (8) courses per year.

Duties for the position include teaching at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels and professional service (for the School, the University, and the Community). Candidates applying must have at least completed a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Supply Chain Management or a related field. The successful candidate must be able to teach Project Management courses, Project Planning and Scheduling, Agile Project Management, and other related supply chain management courses. The successful candidate should also have good working knowledge and comprehensive training in using Microsoft Projects for planning, executing, and monitoring projects. The use of Oracle’s Primavera P6 for complex project scheduling and resource management and advanced Excel techniques for project planning, scheduling, and analytics will be an asset. To ensure that our instructor candidates possess the necessary expertise and credentials, we require that applicants for the instructor position either hold or be in the process of obtaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification. These certifications are not just a requirement but a testament to the high standards of our University and the commitment to providing top-quality education to our students.

At the Instructor I rank, candidates must have demonstrated success in teaching Project Management courses at a University or equivalent position. At the Instructor II rank, candidates must have five (5) or more years’ experience teaching Project Management courses, Project Planning and Scheduling, Agile Project Management, and other related supply chain management courses at a University or equivalent position. At the Senior Instructor rank, candidates must hold a doctoral degree or its equivalent in Supply Chain Management or a related field, and/or have ten (10) or more years’ experience teaching Project Management courses, Project Planning and Scheduling, Agile Project Management, and other related supply chain management courses at a University or equivalent position. These courses should provide a well-rounded education in project management, covering both theoretical foundations and practical applications.
