Instructor I in Biological Anthropology – #37694

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a two-year full-time term position in Biological Anthropology at the rank of Instructor I, commencing July 1, 2026, or on a date mutually agreed upon, with teaching to begin in the Fall term, 2026.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in biological anthropology, including introductory biological anthropology/archaeology, human osteology, forensic anthropology, human evolution, and medical anthropology.
Duties will consist of in-person undergraduate instruction (80%) and service (20%). The teaching load will be 21 credit hours per year (seven courses) spread across Fall, Winter, and Spring terms and will include foundational courses in biological anthropology at the first- and second-year levels, as well as more advanced undergraduate courses.
The Department seeks candidates with demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching, including evidence of effective and innovative instructional practices. A Ph.D. in Anthropology or a closely related field is required at the time of application.
The Department currently has twelve full-time tenured and tenure track faculty members and one Instructor, and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs. Further information about the Department can be obtained from https://umanitoba.ca/arts/anthropology.
