Job Summary/Description Angelo State University invites applications for a non tenure track faculty position in Commercial Aviation at the Instructor level. This full-time, nine-month position in the Department of Management and Marketing will start in Fall of 2023.
Effective teaching, service and commitment to the ASU Commercial Aviation (CAV) Program and the Department of Management and Marketing, the Norris-Vincent College of Business, and Angelo State University are required.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
  • The individual hired for this position will be required to fully participate in the activities of the CAV Program to include teaching, recruitment, student advising and service on committees.
  • The teaching assignments for this position will be in commercial aviation courses such as Instrument Rating Ground Instruction, Commercial Pilot Ground Instruction, and Multi-Engine Ground Instruction. 
  • Other possible courses are Human Factors in Aviation, Federal Aviation Regulations, Aviation Safety, other others.
  • Salary and benefits for this position are competitive and will depend on individual candidate qualifications.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Candidates should have a record of successful teaching.
    • All candidates are expected to hold the required FAA certificates to teach advanced ground aviation courses in the CAV Program.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Masters degree in a field related to aviation.
    • FAA certificates to teach advanced ground school aviation courses.
    • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
    • Willingness to support the CAV program through student recruitment and advising.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience teaching at the college or university level.
    • A background in aviation or aviation instruction.
