Instructor Job Description: 2022-2023

Better to Learn is a new partnership between Brandeis University Precollege Programs and Legacy Heritage Fund that brings together Jewish teens in weekly online learning sessions. In addition, students will be invited to the Brandeis campus for a three day residency in late December to experience university life, hear guest speakers and connect with their online peers. 

Brandeis seeks Course Instructors to teach the Better to Learn courses.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a semester long (Semester 1, 8 sessions; Semester 2, 10 sessions) course on a topic approved in advance by Brandeis and LHF;

  • Providing course syllabus to Brandeis and LHF staff at least one month prior to the beginning of classes;

  • Preparing suggested readings for students;

  • Deliver course sessions via Zoom;

  • Teach 3 2-hour sessions during the December 27-30 residency program (exact times to be determined with each instructor);

  • Read and evaluate students’ final papers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced academic degree or coursework in Judaic Studies;

  • Experience in developing and implementing curriculum for teens;

  • Experience teaching and working with teens;

  • Must be creative, flexible and able to comply with all program policies.
