Posting Text The College of Nursing at South Dakota State University is seeking a full-time Instructor position. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director of Academic and Clinical Placements. The work location will be based at either our Brookings or Sioux Falls site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Sponsorship is not available; candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing upon application, and a Master’s degree in Nursing completed by start date.
  • Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or eligible for licensure as evidenced by current licensure in another state.
  • Two years of relevant clinical practice experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences as evidenced in application materials.
  • Evidence of effective written communication skills.
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal teaching experience in nursing;
  • Evidence of professional service.
