The Department of Surgery has an opening for a full-time Faculty position (unclassified) Advanced Practice Provider position.

Nature of Work:
The Section of Pediatric Colorectal Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has one (1) full-time (1.0 FTE – 40 hours per week) faculty position available at the rank of Instructor for a Pediatric General Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA). Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides inpatient and outpatient medical care services at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) for the Pediatric Colorectal Center.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will primarily be expected to provide independent clinical services for pediatric colorectal surgery patients at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO). These duties will include inpatient responsibilities such as rounding, writing orders, patient assessment, patient education, care coordination, disease management and discharge. Close collaboration with pediatric colorectal surgeons, pediatric general surgeons, sub-specialty surgeons, intensivists, and hospital staff will be necessary. Professional interaction with referring physicians and staff is essential. The candidate will also provide care to patients the Colorectal multidisciplinary clinic, Spinal Defects multidisciplinary clinic, Bowel Management clinic, and inpatient Colorectal patients. The candidate will also participate in bowel management clinical review each day of the monthly bowel management week.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $99,819 to $140,566
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master’s degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
· Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician’s Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
· Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (NP) and the Medical Review Board (PA)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in general surgery, trauma, critical care, and pediatrics preferred.
· First assist or surgical assist certification and experience preferred.
· Preference will be given to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant candidates who have experience
· Experience in general surgery and Colorectal preferred.
