Instructional Technologist 1

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for a multitude of projects, focusing on investigating and experimenting with new technologies while advancing and promoting innovations at Babson, as well as the speed at which we innovate. Specifically responsible for helping bring together faculty and IT teams to find innovative solutions that provide results and advance better pedagogy in the classroom; researching and evaluating emerging technologies; and collaborating with colleagues and other groups on campus to assist with the ongoing planning, development, and implementation of institution-wide technology initiatives for teaching and learning as part of our Innovation Pipeline.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Partner with teams across the Babson ecosystem to manage the procurement, purchase, operation, and maintenance of both campus-based and online classroom technology, college-wide.
• Partner with faculty to: understand and optimize existing learning theories and tools, and research, test, and help roll-out new learning theories, tools, and technologies across Babson’s online, blended/hybrid, and in-person programs.
• Lead, manage, and conduct faculty and staff technology training – both scheduled group sessions, as well as on-demand individualized training.
• Assist faculty and staff on the deployment of instructional technologies to support varied modalities of learning within Babson’s learning management system.
• Serve as the primary resource to faculty and staff for deploying Virtual Desktop Infrastructure-based solutions to enable remote learning using cloud-based services, such as AWS or Azure.
• Promote the innovation pipeline and manage and/or contribute to projects and pilots.
• Work with members of the ATI Center to test, implement, and manage technology vendors to support instructional and academic technology initiatives.
• Analyze, design, and help implement learning assets, alongside our instructional designers, for Babson’s growing online and blended course portfolio.
• Effectively communicate within project teams, faculty, and external clients.
• Research content using internal and external resources.
• Analyze data to help in the decision-making process of advancing innovative technologies and approaches at Babson.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

A minimum of 1+ years of experience working with data analytics, analytical research and/or Information technology

Must have strong project management skills as well as strong research and analytical skills.

Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or other cloud-based workspaces

.

Must have the ability to be flexible and  demonstrated effectiveness in working with a diverse student body, faculty, staff, and other constituents

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; must work well in team environment

Ability to adapts well to new technologies and learns quickly.

Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills as well as superior written and oral communication sills

Must have excellent attention to detail and a strong desire to learn about and within an exciting new field; one of the fastest growing areas in the industry.

Ability to work well independently and meet aggressive deadlines; willingness to multitask and assist on a variety of diverse projects.

Ability to work successfully with limited supervision. Must be a self-starter, problem-solver, and able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to be part of a world-class organization.

Must be able to work with individuals with a wide range of technical expertise.

Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any appropriate boosters .
