This position collaborates with other instructional designers and faculty to help design and develop online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses using learning management systems and relevant educational technologies. This position also works collaboratively with the CELT Team to help design, develop, and promote professional development activities to support faculty in adopting best practices in teaching. Duties: ID2 Entry Level Instructional Designer. Work is performed under intermittent supervision (refer to job duties listed above)
Duties: ID3 Regional Instructional Design Coordinator. Work is performed under administrative supervision. Same duties as level 2 but this level is a fully functional instructional design professional. Serves as the regional instructional design coordinator; lead, assist, develop and model effective design practices and implement technologies to support both eLearning and the integration of educational technology in concert with staff doing related work on all three UAS campuses. Collaborate with faculty and coordinate with other instructional designers to design and develop learning solutions that incorporate adult learning theory and determine appropriate course assessments; conduct research to validate best practices. Provide leadership within the CELT team to: devise creative solutions to course design challenges; perform course quality and accessibility checks; and work with faculty to bring courses into compliance with quality and accessibility guidelines and policies. Engage with internal UAS committees (e.g. Teaching and Learning Technology Roundtable) and represent UAS on UA-wide committees or task forces dealing with eLearning activities. Perform needs assessment for training desired by faculty on all three campuses and offer workshops. Plan, develop, direct and evaluate the training opportunities offered by UAS in instructional design for all employees. Provide training for faculty on how to incorporate smart classroom technologies into hybrid and fully online courses. Investigate, share, document and support educational and instructional technologies used for instructional activities including those used for synchronous web conferencing and asynchronous tools and applications, as well as hybrid courses taught in smart classrooms, and make recommendations on purchasing to the department, as well as assisting in the implementation.

Salary Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . Full university benefits include retirement savings, health insurance, and free UA tuition for employee and dependents.
New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78 (ID2)/ Grade 80 (ID3), based on education and experience.
