Overview

We are looking to recruit an Institute Manager for the newly established Precision Healthcare University Research Institute (PHURI).

PHURI is a flagship University Research Institute established as part of Queen Mary’s ambitious Strategy 2030. It will convene expertise from across the university and provide a focal point for the recruitment of world-class research talent to Queen Mary: enabling a step-change in institutional research capacity and impact.

The unique feature of the institute will be how we integrate key components to complete the innovation cycle. It will include four world-class research centres in the following thematic areas:

  • Uniquely diverse Health Data and Analytics (2.5 million people from 97 nations in east London)
  • Integrated diagnostics, genomics, multiomics and single cell analyses
  • MedTech and Devices
  • Therapeutic Innovation

The Institute Manager is a key role for PHURI. The successful candidate will work closely with the newly-appointed Director to establish the institute and lay the foundations that enable its success. This will involve multiple streams of work, including enabling the process of new concept creation, coordination of research projects (in a managerial capacity), establishing the processes and procedures of the Institute, and overseeing the financial performance.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full time permanent appointment. The salary will be in the Grade 7, salary range, £58,378 – £65,252 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
