Job Summary

  • The Oncology Registered nurse is responsible for coordinating patient care for all patients in the department, utilizing the nursing process and creates a supportive environment.
  • The oncology registered nurse will help educate patients about treatment options, procedures and particularities of the disease and keeps self-up to date with new treatment methods.
  • Staff is required to maintain a level of physical/mental health needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera St. Mary’s Service and Care Standards as well as the Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of South Dakota, at least 1 year of registered nursing experience is desirable, but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to area of responsibility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification recommended, ONS preferred.
  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.

Work Schedule

  • Day Shift; PRN
  • 7:45 am – 5:30 pm

PayThe hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $29.50 – $44.25 per hour
